scooter rat droppings
scooter rat droppings is residue resulting from middle-aged men riding about on motor scooters fulfilling lifelong ambitions to catch-up on what they think they missed out on as a child...

Maybe I shouldn't have parked my scooters so close together. Look what they did :) 6 month report - 1655 Km on the VeeBeeCee - over 1000 trouble-free miles before I parked it for the winter. It's been a mild one here so far, but the first snow brought out the salt trucks so I'll have to rely on my Chetak to take care of my scooter-jones til spring rains arrive...

one week later...

I've put 260 Km on my Vespa this week with only a minor glitch. I picked up a piece of lint in the idle jet when I first put the fuel tap on reserve. No big deal. This was a good opportunity to see how simple the carb (Spaco 20/20) is on this thing. I can't wait to get up to 5-600 miles so I get some confidence in this scoot and maybe my fear-of-death level will drop a bit. After sparring with the ScooterBBS folks I think I generated some bad vibes, feeding my paranoia. Mostly deserved for my opening salvo (first post). Got a nice email from Spoffy, another ScootRS customer, who inspite of well-publicized motor problems leading to a replacement LML motor from S-RS, still had nice things to say about Randall & Co.

absofukingloutely awesome

Damn my new VeeBeeCee is a shiny red scoot... It's better than I ever imagined and after it's first 169 km, seems to be pretty sound. After a few rides gritting my teeth as I looked out for the worst, all seems in good order for a 40-year-old machine. What was I bitchin' about last week? I don't remember.
